Youth Classes
Beginning Guitar - Learn to play basic chords and single note melodies to some of your favorite songs. No musical background required. Guitars and music provided.
Intermediate Guitar - Continue your guitar studies with more
complex chords and guitar arrangements. Read tabs to some of your favorite
songs. Guitars and music provided.
Acting from A to Z - From comedy to tragedy and ancient Greek heros to mythical creatures, learn a variety of acting skills.
Bookmaking - Use different papers and stitching techniques to
make your own books.
Collaborative Visual Art - Bring a sibling, bring a friend, or come and make friends as you create art together.
Colorful Mexico* - Discover the culture of Mexico by making
masks, paintings, sculpture and more! Class culminates with a
youth art exhibit on display for the May 21 gallery stroll at Discovery
Gateway in the Youth Project Center.
Creative Dance - Learn to express yourself through movement in fun and creative ways.
Keyboarding - Discover the basics of piano with group and individualized instruction. Intermediate Keyboarding is for students who have taken Beginning Keyboarding two or more times. (keyboards provided)
Rock Band - Learn to play popular songs and explore
fundamentals of music while playing rock instruments in an ensemble setting.
Singing and Music - Have fun singing together and learning basic musical concepts in our children’s choir.
Stop-Motion Animation - Make your own movies using paper,
modeling clay, and computers.
Visual Art - Express yourself visually and learn basic principles of visual art as you investigate different art forms.
*We are excited to introduce Specialty Classes! Specialty Classes explore a particular genre, medium or topic more in-depth, but still at an introductory level. Specialty classes may be offered on a one-time basis, or occasionally throughout the year. Watch for these exciting new classes indicated by an * asterisks on the registration form.
